Our story
Viaferry.com is based in the Netherlands but operates worldwide with a close-knit team of experts from different nationalities and backgrounds.
Our journey started in 2011 in Indonesia’s tropical Gili Islands, just off the coast of Bali and Lombok, where our company founder had been living for many years. Initially started to help local fast boat companies servicing the islands with international ticket sales, we created the first website to compare and book travel to the Gili Islands with a selection of the best operators. Many of these local businesses did not yet have an online presence, so our first website quickly became a favourite amongst travellers to Bali and its beautifully diverse surrounding islands.
Soon afterwards, while travelling by ferry from Mahe to Praslin in Seychelles, we saw the possibility of replicating the concept, and so we took this idea on the road, setting up websites for several other worldwide destinations with a similar need, again providing an online booking platform to make journeys by fast ferry and speed boat easy between the islands we visited. We made it a point to travel to each location ourselves to gain first-hand experience, foster face-to-face relationships with local businesses and be able to share authentic travel tips with our customers through the following websites:
