Phuket to Ao Nang route overview

Rassada Pier, Phuket
Rassada Pier is on the east coast of Phuket, near Phuket Town. It is the main pier on Phuket for boats to Ao Nang.
From the west coast beaches: the drive from Patong, Kata or Karon can take 45 minutes or more, especially in traffic. Plan your transfer well before departure, particularly for morning boats.
From Phuket Airport: by taxi or private transfer. Journey time: 45 minutes to 1 hour 45, depending on traffic.
From Phuket Town: a short taxi ride. Journey time:10-20 minutes.
Arrive early, as several boats to different islands leave from the pier in the morning.
Nopparat Thara, Ao Nang
Nopparat Thara pier is at the west end of Nopparat Thara Beach, about 4 km or less from most Ao Nang resorts. It is Ao Nang's main arrival point by boat.
To Ao Nang: taxis and shared songthaews (pick-up trucks) run along the beach road to Ao Nang.
To Krabi Town and Krabi Airport: by taxi or private transfer. Journey time: 30 minutes to 1 hour.
Facilities: very limited. There are a few small drink and snack vendors, but no luggage storage and no lost property office. Seafood restaurants are within walking distance along the beach.
Railay: if you are staying on Railay, speedboats run between Nopparat Thara and Railay East Floating Pier in about 20 minutes, and longtail boats leave from Ao Nang Beach.
Ao Nang to Phuket
Crossing time: the speedboat from Nopparat Thara to Rassada Pier takes between 1 hour and 1 hour 20 minutes, depending on the departure. Check the timetable for the exact times of each sailing.
Leaving Ao Nang:
Boats leave from Nopparat Thara pier, about 4 km or less from the Ao Nang resorts.
Take a taxi or songthaew along the beach road to the pier, and arrive early to find your boat.
The pier has very few facilities and no luggage storage, so arrive with everything you need for the crossing.
Arriving in Phuket:
Boats arrive at Rassada Pier, on the east coast near Phuket Town.
