  • Gatwick Airport is on the rail line from Newhaven, which helps if you are flying on.

Dieppe to Newhaven Ferry Tickets

Sailings from Dieppe run 1 to 2 sailings a day, on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and the timetable can change between seasons. Pick your date in the search to see the departures that day. You reach Newhaven after between 4 hours and 6 hours 1 minutes.

The ships offer a restaurant and a bar with sea views, a shop and a play area for children. Lounges with reclining seats are open to every passenger, and there is deck space outside. What is on board can differ between operators and vessels.

A cabin is optional but useful on the late departure, when most of the crossing falls during the night. Every cabin has its own shower and toilet. You can choose an inside or sea-view cabin, a family cabin, a business cabin or an adapted cabin for reduced mobility.

In Newhaven, drivers leave the car deck once the crew gives the signal. Foot passengers are guided off the ship by the crew.

Newhaven is 1 hour behind Dieppe, so turn your clock back when you land in England. Viaferry always shows local times.

Because you are entering the UK, every passenger needs a valid passport, and most EU, EEA and Swiss identity cards are no longer accepted. Most visitors who are not British or Irish citizens also need a UK Electronic Travel Authorisation before they travel. It cannot be arranged at the port.

Arriving in Newhaven

Newhaven has two railway stations, Newhaven Town and Newhaven Harbour. Trains run to Lewes and Seaford in about 10 minutes and to Brighton in under half an hour. London Victoria is about an hour and a half away by train, travelling via Lewes and Gatwick Airport.

For your flight home, the train is the simplest way to Gatwick Airport: take a service towards London via Lewes. Local taxi firms also serve the port if you have heavy bags or an early start.

If this crossing does not suit you, there are shorter sailings from Calais and Dunkirk to Dover, but these take vehicles only and do not carry foot passengers.
