Sala Dan Pier is the main ferry pier on Koh Lanta Yai, situated at the northern tip of the island in Ban Sala Dan village, Krabi province. It is the primary departure and arrival point for passenger boats to and from Koh Phi Phi, Phuket, Krabi, Koh Lipe and the Trang Islands. The pier handles both speedboats and standard ferries. Sailings run throughout the year, though frequency decreases significantly from around May to October during the low season.
The pier sits within Ban Sala Dan, a small harbour village with seafood restaurants, souvenir shops, cafes and diving centres along the waterfront. It is a convenient base for picking up supplies before boarding or after arriving on the island. Taxis and tuk-tuks are available at the pier for onward travel to resorts along Koh Lanta's west coast.

Sala Dan Pier facilities
Sala Dan Pier has restrooms, shaded seating and ATMs. There is no luggage storage at the pier. A small entrance fee of 10 THB applies.
The surrounding Ban Sala Dan village has more than 20 seafood restaurants built on stilts over the water, as well as convenience stores, souvenir shops and cafes within walking distance of the pier. Diving centres are also located in the village. These are the main options for food and drink before or after boarding.
Getting to Sala Dan Pier
From within Koh Lanta: taxis and tuk-tuks serve the pier from resorts and towns along the island. Fares for short local journeys are typically in the range of 50 to 200 THB. Many resorts on Koh Lanta offer complimentary shuttle transfers to and from the pier: check with your hotel when booking.
From Krabi (by road): Koh Lanta is accessible by road from Krabi, with a short vehicle ferry crossings at Ban Hua Hin. Journey time from Krabi Town or Krabi Airport by taxi or minivan: 2-3 hours.
