Krabi is a province on the Andaman coast of southern Thailand, known for its limestone cliffs, island scenery and beach resorts. The mainland has several bases to choose from. Krabi Town is the provincial capital and the main gateway for Krabi Airport, Ao Nang is the main beach resort area, and Railay is a peninsula with no road connection that is popular for rock climbing. Offshore, the province includes Koh Phi Phi and Koh Lanta, and boat trips and island-hopping are a large part of most Krabi holidays.
Krabi is well connected by sea as well as by road and air. Ferries and speedboats link the mainland with Koh Phi Phi, Phuket, Koh Lanta and Railay, and tickets for these routes can be booked on Viaferry.

Krabi Ferry
Boats from Krabi leave from more than one pier.
Klong Jilad Pier, about 3 to 4 km from Krabi Town, is the main pier for ferries and speedboats to Phuket, Phi Phi and Koh Lanta. It has a terminal building, a car park and food stalls nearby, and taxis, tuk-tuks and songthaews connect it with Krabi Town (10 to 15 minutes), Ao Nang (about 30 minutes) and Krabi Airport (30 to 40 minutes).
Nopparat Thara Pier, at the western end of Ao Nang, is used by speedboats to Phi Phi and other islands.
Railay Pier, on the east side of the Railay peninsula, has speedboats and ferries to Phi Phi, Phuket, Koh Lanta and other islands. Railay has no road connection, so the only way to reach it is by boat, usually a longtail from Ao Nang Beach.
